Inspiration and instruction for young artists

Teachers have long known that art instruction can help children develop motor skills, language skills and social skills, while also teaching decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness.
Students who have taken art classes for several years have already enjoyed these educational benefits, but in Bayfield they are also given a chance to acquire one more skill — teaching.

Machallister is the man

After conducting a nationwide search to find the next principal for Bayfield Intermediate School, district officials have chosen to hand the reins over to a veteran educator who is also a familiar face to local students and their families.

Welcome! Our school offers a welcoming climate where students and staff cooperate, accept one another’s differences, and feel safe to take risks. In a community that values the arts, we are proud to offer computer, library, Spanish, art, and music classes. Teachers work together to plan lessons that meet the needs of every student, and they are actively involved in Peer Coaching and mentoring. We think you will agree that BIS is a great place to be!
