Lego League is a team competition where students compete globally in robotics, problem solving and teamwork using First Lego League’s Core Values. This year’s theme, Cargo Connect, had teams looking for innovative solutions to the global challenges around shipping products. Teams conduct research and design solutions to a specific problem. In addition to the project, teams build and program EV3 robots to complete complicated missions on a field of obstacles.
This year’s competition team, The Flaming Bot Blasters, designed a mail system that would deliver smaller packages between buildings of campuses, hospitals and other multi-building businesses via electromagnetic energy. This innovation won first place at the regional qualifier in December against 21 other teams.
The team qualified for state and has been improving the projects and the robot game. This week, students will submit videos of the robot game and all supplemental materials. They will complete the interview and project judging on February 26th. Team members are Aidan Tipton, Captain Cook, Cody Holley, Masyn Maxwell, Kaiden Smith, Hayden Upson, Brayden Justice-Zabka.
