Dear Bayfield School District Families, Student, Staff, and Community Members,
The Bayfield School District is beginning the exciting process of developing a new Strategic Plan — a roadmap that will guide our district’s priorities and actions for the next five years. This plan will provide clear direction for our students, staff, families, and community as we work together toward shared goals for the future.
We invite you to lend your voice and perspective by joining our Strategic Planning Steering Committee. As a member of this committee, you will help identify the district’s key strengths, challenges, and opportunities. Your input will play a vital role in shaping the goals and strategies that support student success and strengthen our schools for years to come.
Together, we can create a vision that reflects the hopes and values of the entire Bayfield community.
The committee will meet five times between November 2025 and March 2026, providing a valuable opportunity for you to collaborate and give input in shaping this strategic plan. We hope you’ll consider joining us in this important work to help define the future of our district!

How can you get involved?
Interest forms are due by November 10, 2025. The district leadership team will review the list of community members who have indicated interest and select a representative group to join the committee. Committee members will be invited to join the committee by November 14, 2025.
The planning process will be facilitated by the Colorado Education Initiative. Committee members will not be expected to complete any work ahead of the initial meeting. We are excited to have you working with us through this planning process!
