BIS Library
Welcome to the Library!
Our school librarian is Amber Apalategui. She has been in this position for the past 3 years.
Students will visit the library every other week! Books are kept with the student for 2 weeks. Every student has been given a white book bag that is theirs to keep. They are responsible for putting their books in their book bag after each time they read their book. This helps them keep the books in pristine condition and helps us not to have to replace books so often.
My mission is to build a sanctuary where legends are brought to life, where the joy of reading fuels curiosity and imagination, and where every student is made to feel important, valued, and heard. We aim to inspire a lifelong love of reading, helping students grow their minds and imagination. We foster an environment that is inclusive and accepting of all, where kindness, creativity, and fun come together to encourage exploration, learning, and personal growth. Through every story and experience, students will leave with memories to cherish for a lifetime.
As a librarian, I believe that every student has the potential to build themselves and each other as legends. Through books, we discover and grow our core—the heart of who we are—and learn to see the world through others' eyes. My role is to guide each student on their journey of self-discovery, helping them find the stories that resonate with their hearts and spark their imagination. I strive to create a space where students not only learn to love reading but also develop empathy, confidence, and the belief that they can shape their own legendary stories.
Here's to a great school year!
