Mr. Machallister (Mr. Mach)

I am honored to serve as the principal of Bayfield Intermediate School for my second year. My passion lies in making sure ALL students grow—academically, socially, and emotionally—and see themselves as productive, valued members of our learning community.

Every day, I am driven to push our staff, our families, and our collective thinking to continuously improve. I believe that progress happens when we commit to getting just a little bit better each day. Whether it’s refining our teaching practices, strengthening our partnerships with families, or inspiring our students to take on new challenges, my focus is on building a culture of growth and belonging.

Education is not just my profession—it’s my family’s calling. My wife is a dedicated middle school counselor, and together we are raising two wonderful children. As both an educator and a parent, I understand the importance of creating a safe, supportive, and inspiring school environment where every child can thrive.

At Bayfield Intermediate, we are building a community where students believe in themselves, embrace learning, and contribute positively to the world around them. I’m excited for the journey ahead and grateful to partner with our families in shaping the future—one student at a time.
