Principal's Message

August 2022

Dear BIS Families,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! We are excited to jump into a new and exciting year at BIS. Our theme for the 2022-2023 school year is Shine Bright. We will light up our year with optimism and a bright outlook. We will spotlight the great work of our students and staff. We will work together to make BIS a bright place to be and shine a light in the community. We have an exciting year ahead of us and look forward to sharing our celebrations with our families and community.

At BIS we believe building and maintaining strong relationships allows for deeper learning and an equitable, respectful school culture. We strive to create a safe and welcoming learning environment for everyone that enters our doors. This attitude enables us to meet academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. We are committed to maintaining a productive partnership with families to ensure our students have a successful year. Please help us be efficient in our communications by taking time to read through the weekly BIS News from the principal and the classroom communications from teachers.

Each year brings about new and exciting opportunities for both students and staff. Our staff is dedicated to providing a quality experience for all students.  We put in many hours of preparation so that students will have a positive educational experience. I am honored to support our teachers and staff as we continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous and relevant.

Bayfield is a supportive community and a great place to be an educator. We appreciate your support as we step into a new school year. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call me or email me as questions or concerns come up throughout the school year.

Please review the Student/Parent Handbook with your child. You can find a PDF of the handbook on our school website: https://bis.bayfield.k12.co.us/ You will find the handbook under the ‘For Parents’ tab.

Sincerely,
