Rita Elliott

  My family was among the first pioneers here in Colorado. My great-great grandfather helped to found the town of Meeker. I, myself was born in Denver when my family lived in Kremmling and I grew up in Durango.

  Over the years I have taught in several schools in Arizona and up north in Ridgway, Colorado. I started my career in Bayfield teaching 5th grade in 2013. For the last five years I have taught Title 1 Reading and Math small group intervention. This is my 21st year in this profession. 

  I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography as well as a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading. My passion is teaching reading and social students. As well as helping students to find what they are truly passionate about.

  When not teaching I love to garden, play with my kids, sew, camp, and enjoy the outdoors.
